Air Jordan 1 Georgetown BQ4422-400 Release Recall
Undoubtedly one of the most anticipated drops of the season, the Air Jordan 1 “Georgetown” (AKA “College Navy”) draws inspiration from Michael Jordan’s college days. Specifically, the colorway looks back to March 29, 1982, the day MJ led the Tar Heels to victory over the Georgetown Hoyas.
While it helps mark the 40th anniversary of the championship game – and therefore the time MJ won the title over the Bulldogs – the outing doesn’t celebrate the winner. Instead, iconic Georgetown colors are applied to Peter Moore’s beloved silhouette, which here boasts a construction closer to its 1985 counterparts.
Sat on a White midsole, the colorway combines both ‘College Navy’ and ‘Tech Grey’, with the latter dressing both the base as well as the Wings logo along the collar. The blue-toned complement of the neutral is placed on top, coloring the Swoosh as well as the adjacent overlays. Additionally, to stay in line with the ’85 theme, the tongue is treated with a subtle yellowed finish, giving the feel of a much older shoe.
