Raising Dion by Marvel’s Michael B Jordan canceled by Netflix

Marvel star Michael B Jordan’s Netflix superhero series Raising Dion was canceled after just two seasons.

The series, which is produced by the Black Panther actor, follows a mother and her son, the latter beginning to show superhero abilities.

Following the release of the show’s second season in February, speculation was rife as to whether it would be renewed for a third outing.

However, star Sammi Haney – who plays Esperanza Jimenez on the show – confirmed that the show was sadly deleted in an Instagram post.

“Sad to say that Raising Dion is CANCELED,” she commented. “Thank you for all the amazing support we’ve received from all of our wonderful fans! Season 2 was a success, equal to season 1, even if you just have to see how many people watched it in full and wanted a season 3!

Haney added, “The only ‘silver lining’ is that it frees me up to pursue other roles. My Netflix contract has prevented me from accepting other major roles that have been offered to me (1 actually written with me in mind) on other TV shows! So if you work for a major studio, get back to me, I’m ready!”

Season 2 wrapped up the events with the door open for a third outing, including an end credits scene teasing a futuristic world, so news of the cancellation will no doubt be a big disappointment for fans.
